Ethics of Copy in AutoCad
The purpose of this website is to provide users with knowledge of the good, the bad and the ambiguous sides of the AutoCAD copy feature. This website provides a general overview of copying and AutoCAD.

"Copy"

“The duplication of information or an artifact”(1). The term copy is a noun that has been around since the 14th century. In the middle english language this feature was called copie. This word came from the anglo-french language which itself came from medieval latin’s copia, this is in turn from latin’s word, abundance. (2)

In AutoCAD the copy feature is used to make designing easier and faster. This feature lets users copy an item, move it over and paste it into a different portion of their design, thus saving the time it would take to redesign the item in the new spot.

"AutoCAD"

AutoCAD is a 2D and 3D design program that was first made in 1982 by Autodesk. Most often it is used in drafting, however more recently it is being used for solid modeling along with the drafting. (3)
